For over 60 years, Stark® Carpet has provided custom service for the interior design professional. Founded by the late Arthur and Nadia Stark, who traveled the world exploring carpet history and contributed the knowledge and art of re-creating some of the most beautiful rug masterpieces and handmade rugs of the centuries, the firm is now headed by their sons, John and Steven Stark.

The company specializes in custom designed carpet, fabric, furniture and wallcovering for both the residential and contract markets. Styles range from traditional to contemporary, including a documented library of antique and oriental designs.

STARK FINE FURNITURE

In 1994, Stark announced the addition of Stark® Fine Furniture, a line of custom-built furniture designed to showcase the fabrics from our Old World Weavers fabric division and to complement our carpet and rug masterpieces for the residential and commercial markets.

The introductory line of furniture offers a variety of traditional frames for chairs and sofas, which may be ordered as shown, or with custom options. The chair collection includes club, wing and occasional styles, while sofa options include kidney-shaped, tufted, and tight backs with English or roll-arms. In addition, Stark custom builds furniture from its clients' design details, drawings and specifications.

The hallmark of Stark's custom upholstery is found in the style, comfort and beauty of each piece, which is the result of quality construction. To visit the Stark Fine Furniture Site.

STARK WALLCOVERING
At present, to further enhance and continue the success of "The Stark Touch," Stark has introduced their new Wallcovering division, a necessary addition to the concept of elegant and total room design. The Stark Wallcovering Collection will offer a varied selection of designs rich in timeless tradition as well as more eclectic patterns and textures bridging the past with the future.

SELECTION
Stark Carpet, Old World Weavers, Stark Fine Furniture and Stark Wallcovering's showrooms represent a designer's paradise. On display are handmade and mechanically woven rugs, fabrics, furniture and wallcoverings reproduced in exact detail from documented museum pieces. These are native design rugs from just about every carpet weaving village in the old and new worlds as well as exotic antique rugs, some of which graced European and Asian palaces. There are lively geometrics, exquisite needlepoints and sampler designs in the manner of patchwork quilts. These include Orientals, Aubusssons, Savonneries, Kilims, Caucasians, Indian, American, Spanish and Portuguese. From hand-knotted to hand-carved, traditional to contemporary, Stark Carpet has elevated the process of creating carpets into a fine art. Worldwide and continuous researching enables Stark to offer the ultimate in carpet, textiles, furniture and wallcovering in every conceivable design, color, texture, size and shape, from historical document to contemporary masterpieces. Maintaining the highest standards in classic design and exquisite quality, Stark recognizes the importance of continually introducing unique and exciting products to the interior design community.
