Along with his wife, Bessie, Pocker was quickly recognized by New York's leading art clientele as a master craftsman with exceptional taste. Frequently, his customers would leave artwork with intructions for "Mr. Pocker to do as he deems best".
Returning home after serving in Europe during WWII, his son, Marvin, continued the tradition. Moving the store two blocks uptown allowed for some expansion and a gallery was added to the store. Joined by his wife, Audrey, they continued to serve New York's leading collectors with high quality framing and fast turn around.
The third generation, Jacob's grandchildren, Richard and Robyn have led the business and expanded to five additional locations. Although the framing industry has changed in many ways over seventy-five years, they continue to adhere to Jacob's tradition of high quality with quick service.
